Schuyler has served on the Board of Directors of the California Council of Churches and the San Francisco United Methodist Mission. A particular passion of his is to be able to work as a mentor to seminary students and young people. His work with students has taken him to Drew University Theological School as a Prophet in Residence, and also as an adjunct teacher in the Doctor of Ministry Program. He has also been deeply involved in the ministry of his denomination, the United Methodist Church, where he has held number of ministry responsibilities beyond the local church.

An accomplished author, Rev. Rhodes has published numerous articles and monographs, as well as eight books, “Journey Through The Psalms,” “Words of Hope and Clarity,” “Words for a Birthing Church,” "Pentecost Fire: Preaching Hope in Times of Change (CSS Press)" and "Words to the Silence: A Book of Uncommon Prayer (Ed. Min. Press)." He also wrote a regular column for “Emphasis Preaching Journal” for seven years. His latest book, “Shouting Joy to the Storm,” was published by CSS Press in the spring of 2019.
He is married to Lisa Quoresimo and is the father of Emma Elizabeth and Aaron Schuyler, both age 28. Both children are launched into professional pursuits and make their parents very proud. Schuyler’s spare time interests involve a love of playing and writing music, cooking, and tending his backyard garden at his home in Southern Utah.   His newest adventure is to venture into writing a novel!
